Hola amigos, and Happy Monday!

Sorry for getting de Weekly Schedule to you a little late - we’ve been working on de Schedule for de Week, getting things in gear, and Paco can assure you that you’ll like what you see…

Where to begin, where to begin.  Oh yeah, heard about the proposed food truck regulations the Baton Rouge Metro Council will be considering this Wednesday?  Speak out here, learn more about what’s going on, and tell them where YOU stand on de Issues amigos.

Now that Paco’s stepping off his pedestal, back to de Taco business. Here are a couple of highlights for de Week…

Baton Rouge’s first ever “Truckin’ It - A Night to Celebrate Baton Rouge’s Food Trucks” hits The Tin Roof Brewing Company on TUESDAY EVENING from 5-9pm, where all of Baton Rouge’s food trucks are invited to a one-of-a-kind deal to celebrate all things food trucks in our great city.  This is a night to celebrate and raise awareness of the awesome things going on in Baton Rouge with food trucks, so make every effort to bring the co-workers, crew, and family on out.

Tin Roof will be holding their always awesome brewery tours, great music will be playing, and there will be an insane amount of deLicious food, featuring the re-re-introduction of the ultra-deLicious and rock star “Bite and Barbequez” taco (slow roasted BBQ pulled pork, Jay D’s Bite and Booze Blog’s BBQ Sauce homemade with Louisiana ingredients, house-pickled jalapenos and onions, and homemade creole mustard, finished off with some cilantro).

Keep in mind that “Truckin’ It” takes the place of our regular Wednesday Food Truck Wround-up this week so that Paco and his amigos can be down at City Hall for the Council meeting, but don’t worry - de Wround-up will be back in action NEXT week.

Be sure to catch Paco on Thursday as well, where he’ll be taking part in a double-dose of deLiciousness -

  1. Posting up for lunch at the Dudley DeBosier Law Offices on Government Street where… get this… Dudley DeBosier is PICKING UP THE TAB for the surrounding community. Where Paco comes from, we’re all “Poor Men”

Hola amigos, and Happy Mardi Gras!

Hope you’ve all enjoyed relaxing and/or partying it up like it’s 1999 (which was the year that, due to lack of interest from publishers, Paco gave up on trying to write a book that featured nothing but random mustached amigos’ faces… his website for the book, www.thefacebook.com, was picked up by some kid from Harvard a few years later).

While you’ve been taking full advantage of the Mardi Gras break, Paco’s been in the kitchen cooking up a weekful of deLiciousness that heads your way starting tomorrow. And amigos, this is a week where eating tacos each day will not be frowned on in any circles (least of all Paco’s).

The main reason? It all starts, and ends, with the most popular taco special of all time in the history of tacoland… we re-present, the re-debut of the one and only “Poor Man’s Taco”.

Poached buttered lobster… deLicious grilled filet steak… homemade cajun tomato preserves… goat cheese… sprinkled with sliced green onions. It’s a deLicacy meant for a king, but it’s coming to you, all of Paco’s amigos across Baton Rouge, starting Wednesday, February 22nd.

And if you’re gonna be in Lent mode, don’t sweat it. Paco’s got a solution for you so you can still enjoy de Goodness of de Poor Man.

Finally, Paco presents your special for the week… since its debut got rained out last week at the Wednesday Food Truck Wround-up, Paco’s bringing it back for a 2nd showing ALL WEEK LONG.

Presenting the “Bite and Barbequez” taco - BBQ pulled pork (slow roasted), Jay D’s Bite and Booze Blog’s BBQ Sauce (homemade with Louisiana ingredients), house-pickled jalapenos and onions, and homemade creole mustard, finished off with some cilantro.

Hola amigos!  Get ready for a deLicious taco filled week, highlighted by a SPECIAL, LUNCHTIME VERSION of the Wednesday Food Truck Wround-up… featuring international chef, TV host, and author Andrew Zimmern as he films a segment for his “Appetite for Life” TV show right here in Baton Rouge, and your favorite taco truck is a part of de Action!

Join us Downtown in the NEW Town Square on North BLVD at 11am as a group of local celebrity judges taste an entry from each food truck in a “Baton Rouge Food Truck Cook-off”, and then stick around to grab some deLicious tacos as Andrew Zimmern continues filming for the show!  See below for a recent article from the Baton Rouge Business Report about the event, and click here to check out Andrew’s “Appetite for Life” webpage for more information on the show.

Also, you can click here to RSVP to the event on Facebook (not like that means anything, but it can’t hurt, right?).

Oh, and did we mention it’s going to benefit a great cause? A portion of ALL the trucks’ proceeds are going to benefit the Capital Area United Way!

MSN’s Appetite for Life with Andrew Zimmern will be in downtown Baton Rouge on Wednesday to film show segments in front of a live audience. A food truck “Wround-up” will be held in conjunction with the event, with each truck preparing a dish that reflects its unique concept but is rooted in Cajun flavors. The food trucks will donate 10% of gross sales to the Capital Area United Way, which is partnering with the show.
